Having a blood test? Tell the clinic you take a biotin supplement.
Two gummies supply 5000 mcg of biotin, around 167 times the daily value, and high-dose biotin is
known to skew several common laboratory assays. It is an accuracy issue with the test rather than
a risk from the nutrient, and it matters. Full safety notes.

The Gelagen Ingredients People Ask About
Each with what it is, what amount the label gives it, and what the evidence genuinely supports.
5000 mcg 16,667% DV
Biotin
Vitamin B7, and the reason this whole category exists. It is a cofactor for the enzymes that build fatty acids and handle amino acids — and keratin, the protein hair and nails are made from, depends on that machinery. The clearest evidence in its literature is for brittle nails over several months.
6 mcg 250% DV
Vitamin B12
As methylcobalamin, a form the body uses directly rather than having to convert. B12 is required to make new cells, and skin is among the fastest-dividing tissues there is. It is also the nutrient here most likely to be filling a genuine gap, particularly for anyone eating little animal food or over sixty.
2 mg 118% DV
Vitamin B6
As pyridoxine hydrochloride. More than a hundred enzymes depend on B6 and almost all of them handle amino acids — which is to say protein, which is to say hair and nails. At 118 percent this is a sensible nutritional level rather than a mega-dose.
442 mcg DFE 111% DV
Folate
Including 260 mcg of folic acid. Folate and B12 work in the same pathway, handing a chemical group back and forth in a cycle that DNA synthesis depends on. For a tissue that replaces itself every month, that is not a small job.
5.2 mg 104% DV
Pantothenic acid
Vitamin B5, as d-calcium pantothenate. It forms coenzyme A, which sits at the centre of fat metabolism — and the skin's moisture barrier is built from lipids. Its derivative panthenol is one of the most used soothing ingredients in topical skincare.
And the other eight
The Rest Of The Gelagen Formula
Nothing here is filler. All of it is declared with its own amount.
Vitamin A 630 mcg · 70%
As retinyl acetate. The classic skin vitamin, with a long-established role in the normal turnover of skin cells.
Vitamin C 20 mg · 22%
As ascorbic acid. Required for the body to build collagen of its own, and one of the two dietary antioxidants here.
Vitamin D 10 mcg · 50%
As cholecalciferol. Involved in the normal life cycle of skin cells, and low in a great many people through winter.
Vitamin E 7.4 mg · 49%
As d-alpha tocopheryl acetate. The fat-soluble antioxidant, which works in partnership with vitamin C.
Zinc 2.7 mg · 25%
As zinc citrate. Involved in skin structure, wound repair and the normal function of the hair follicle.
Iodine 42 mcg · 28%
As potassium iodide. An essential mineral for thyroid function, which in turn governs hair and skin condition.
Choline 0.04 mg · 0%
As choline bitartrate. Present in a token amount — the panel rounds its daily value to zero, and we would rather say so than dress it up.
Inositol 40 mcg · †
No daily value has been established. Often grouped with the B vitamins, it is involved in cell signalling.

What Is Not In Gelagen
This list matters as much as the one above it, because the name on the bottle sets an
expectation that the panel does not meet.
No collagen. The name suggests it; the panel does not contain it. Vitamin C is in
there, and vitamin C is what the body requires to make collagen of its own.
No hyaluronic acid, the other ingredient people expect in a skin supplement.
No proprietary blend — which is the good news in this list. Every one of the
thirteen actives is present at a stated amount.
Biotin at 16,667% deserves a paragraph of its own
Five thousand micrograms is roughly 167 times the daily value. That is normal for a beauty
supplement and it is not a toxicity concern — biotin is water soluble and the surplus leaves
in urine.
Where it does cause trouble is in a laboratory. A sample loaded with biotin can throw a range
of routine assays — thyroid and cardiac ones especially — in either direction depending
on how the test is built. One sentence to the person drawing your blood solves it. The
safety page sets it out in full.
Reading The Gelagen Daily Values
A percentage in the right-hand column means an official reference intake exists for that nutrient,
which is true of twelve of the thirteen here. Inositol is the exception and carries a dagger,
meaning no daily value has been established. That is normal and says nothing about whether the amount
present is useful.
A figure above 100 percent is not automatically better. For water-soluble vitamins like the B
group, surplus is largely excreted. For fat-soluble vitamins A, D and E it accumulates — which
is exactly why those three sit at 70, 50 and 49 percent rather than in the hundreds.
Seen enough?
Current bundles and the guarantee are on the checkout.
It is 167 times the daily value, and biotin has no established upper limit because the surplus is excreted rather than stored. The practical issue is not toxicity, it is that high-dose biotin skews laboratory blood tests. Tell any clinic taking your blood.
Because vitamin A is fat soluble and accumulates in the liver, so a sensible formula keeps it inside the daily value rather than far beyond it. Seventy percent is a deliberate, conservative figure.
Neither. The panel on this page is the complete list. It does contain vitamin C, which the body needs in order to make its own collagen.
Corn syrup, water, pure cane sugar, pectin, citric acid, natural flavour, sodium citrate, tapioca starch and beet root extract for colour. Pectin is a fruit fibre, which is why it is not gelatin.
Yes. They are transcribed from the photographed Supplement Facts panel, which is reproduced on this page. Check the bottle you receive against it — if the two differ, your bottle is the authority and we would like to hear about it.
Gelagen is a dietary supplement, not a medicine, and it is not a treatment for acne, eczema,
psoriasis, hair loss or any other diagnosed condition. Adults only. If you are pregnant or
nursing, under a physician’s care, taking medication or have a known medical condition,
the label asks you to consult a physician before use. Each serving contains 3 g of added
sugar, and the biotin in it can interfere with blood tests. Everything we know sits on the
safety page.
